2DCR 107.9FM Committee Members

President – Nola McDonald

I love radio. It is a wonderful friend, always available and offering a variety of information and entertainment. It gives voice to communities keeping them in touch each other and with what is going on. I feel privileged to be a part of Radio Dungog.

Secretary and Treasurer – Margie Hunter

I volunteer as Secretary and a presenter at our local community radio station, 2DCR 107.9FM Radio Dungog, because I’m passionate about supporting local voices and helping to strengthen our community’s connection. Being part of the station and committee allows me to contribute to something meaningful — sharing local stories, promoting events, and giving residents a platform to be heard. Community radio plays a vital role in the Dungog Shire by keeping people informed, especially in times of emergency, and by celebrating the unique culture, creativity, and spirit of our region. It provides a launch platform for the young people in our community with an interest in a career in Radio, Media, Broadcast, and podcast. It brings people together, encourages local talent, and ensures that everyone has access to information and entertainment that truly reflects our community.

Vice President – Michael Beaumont

I’m a big believer in diversity of voices. History, music, hosting, reflecting and building. As much as I like pop music, I love Blues, Jazz, singer-songwriters and bands who play music other than pop. I’m super keen to give voice to people who don’t have them.

Committee Member – Alexandria Carruthers, JP

I believe in the power of local storytelling and community connection. With a passion for amplifying regional voices and supporting creative initiatives, I joined the committee to help build a platform that reflects our diverse community, shares local news, and celebrates the people and projects that make the place we all come home so unique.
